Last week, I had the absolute honor of documenting Savannah and Joel’s intimate at-home elopement—a beautiful reminder that love doesn’t need extravagance to be unforgettable. When Savannah and Joel reached out back in September to let me know they were rescheduling their wedding, my heart was with them. Plans change, life happens, and sometimes the big celebration we imagined shifts into something simpler, sweeter, and even more meaningful. So when they contacted me again—this time filled with excitement about exchanging vows inside their home, surrounded by their closest family—I knew instantly that this was exactly where I was meant to be.

Their Friday morning elopement was the perfect example of how small weddings can be just as magical as grand ones. Savannah added thoughtful, delicate details throughout their space, while Joel helped create an atmosphere that was warm, relaxed, and full of joy. From the soft morning light drifting through their living room, to the homemade foods, treats, and little personal touches, every moment felt genuine and centered on what truly matters—their love and the promise they made to one another.

I often tell my brides that you don’t need a huge venue, dozens of vendors, or an elaborate timeline to have a meaningful wedding day. Elopements and small ceremonies deserve to be documented with the same care, artistry, and storytelling as any large celebration. Savannah and Joel’s day was a beautiful reminder of that.
