Last week, I had the absolute honor of capturing Jamie and Michael’s intimate wedding at the stunning Deep Creek Landing Marina in Newport News, Virginia. This was my very first time photographing a wedding at this beautiful waterfront venue, and it truly exceeded every expectation. From the warm fall colors to the peaceful marina views, everything about this location was perfect for the romantic and intimate celebration Jamie and Michael envisioned.

The golden fall sky cast a soft glow over the water, the leaves created the perfect seasonal backdrop, and the details these two chose were thoughtful, elegant, and full of meaning.
A Ceremony Blessed From Above
One of the most unforgettable moments of the day happened just as the ceremony began. As Jamie and Michael stood together, ready to say their vows, two American bald eagles soared above us as if blessing the beginning of their new life together. It was a breathtaking and symbolic moment that felt destined: unity, protection, strength, and love, all wrapped into one powerful sign. I will never forget that feeling or the emotion it brought to everyone present.
An Evening Full of Joy, Color & Connection
Jamie and Michael filled the evening with laughter, heartfelt moments, and so much love. The fall colors framed every portrait beautifully, giving their gallery a naturally warm and dreamy glow. From the sweet stolen glances during their portraits to the emotional moments shared with family and friends, every part of their wedding day felt peaceful, intimate, and genuine.
Their celebration reminded me exactly why I adore photographing weddings—especially smaller, heartfelt gatherings where love truly takes center stage.
