Ashley & Jeremiah’s Wedding | Hub 757 | Suffolk, Virginia Wedding Photographer

Some wedding days are remembered for the flowers. Others are remembered for the decorations or the cake.

Ashley and Jeremiah’s wedding at the Hub 757 in Suffolk, Virginia will forever be remembered for something far more meaningful—the moments.

From the very first time I met Ashley and Jeremiah, I knew exactly what mattered most to them. Of course they cared about having a beautiful wedding day, but more than anything, they wanted to remember the laughter, the genuine emotions, and the quiet moments they shared together. They wanted a wedding gallery that told the story of their day—not just what it looked like, but how it felt.

As a wedding photographer these are the kinds of weddings that fill my heart. The perfectly posed portraits certainly have their place, but the images that become family heirlooms are often the ones no one planned.

Throughout their celebration at the Hub 757, Ashley and Jeremiah soaked in every hug, every smile, every conversation, and every joyful moment with the people they love most. Rather than rushing through their timeline, they embraced the day exactly as it unfolded.

Stepping Away from the Celebration

One of my absolute favorite moments happened after the wedding festivities had ended.

Instead of jumping straight into the rest of the evening, Ashley and Jeremiah made a decision that I hope more couples will consider for their own weddings.

We slipped away to a quiet private park, leaving behind the guests, the excitement, and even family for just a little while. For the first time all day, it was just the two of them. There was no timeline to follow. No one waiting. No distractions. Just a husband and wife beginning the very first chapter of their marriage together. It was incredible to watch.

You could literally see every ounce of stress from the day melt away. Their shoulders relaxed. Their smiles became effortless. Their laughter became contagious. They weren’t thinking about the next event or the next photograph—they were simply enjoying being together.

Those are the moments that make my heart happiest as a photographer. The Moments Within the Moments

There was one memory from their portraits that I don’t think I’ll ever forget. While I was photographing Jeremiah, he suddenly noticed turtles swimming in the nearby water. Without hesitation, he called Ashley over. The two of them stood there smiling, pointing, laughing, and talking about the turtles like no one else in the world existed.

It wasn’t part of the timeline.

It wasn’t planned.

It wasn’t posed.

It was simply them.

Jeremiah knew his wife would love that tiny discovery, and in that instant, the photographs became so much bigger than portraits. Instead of interrupting, I quietly stepped back. I let them have their moment. I simply documented it. Some of my favorite photographs from their wedding came from those few minutes because they tell the story of who Ashley and Jeremiah truly are.

That is what wedding photography is all about. Not just documenting the big moments. But preserving the moments within those moments. More Than Beautiful Details Every wedding has beautiful flowers. Every wedding has thoughtful decorations. Every wedding has carefully planned details. But years from now, those aren’t usually the things couples talk about first.

They remember the way they looked at each other. The laughter that caught them by surprise. The unexpected discoveries. The peaceful moments when the world became quiet for just a little while. Ashley and Jeremiah reminded me that weddings aren’t about creating a perfect day—they’re about celebrating a beautiful beginning.

It was such an honor to witness their love, document their story, and preserve the little moments that made their wedding uniquely theirs.

Ashley and Jeremiah, thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day. Your joy, kindness, and genuine love for one another were a gift to witness. I pray your marriage continues to be filled with countless little moments that become your biggest memories. ❤️
